Amy Bodossian in ‘Don’t worry I’ve got it covered’

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Critically acclaimed cabaret star Amy Bodossian weaves a musical spoken word love story with the hits of  Prince, Talking Heads, The Eurythmics, Roxy Music and more…

What happens when a hopeless romantic with obsessive compulsive disorder loses the two men she loves – Prince and her best friend – in the same year?

Amy Bodossian is bringing her intimate 80s pop cabaret ‘Don’t Worry I’ve Got It Covered’ to Hares and Hyenas in Fitzroy on May 23, 24 and 25th at 7:30pm. The show features a poetic love story, with unique musical arrangements of Prince, Talking Heads, the Eurythmics and Roxy Music. Amy oozes neurotic, erotic and whimsical charm as she takes the audience through an unforgettably moving and hilarious journey of love, loss and acceptance.

Bodossian is a Green Room Award nominee and winner of the Melbourne Spoken Word Convenor’s Choice Award. She has performed comedy, electro pop and acoustic sets for crowds of up to 10,000 people across Australia, been seen on Spicks & Specks, and Please Like Me, and amassed a cult following in the Australian spoken word scene. She published her first book Wide Open in 2018.

“Not only is this show a shameless display of my neuroses and my insatiable thirst for unrequited love – it’s also an exploration of how everything dies but music lives on.” says Bodossian. “So many of the artists I cover are now gone –  Chrissy Amphlett, Prince, and the year this was set in 2016 we lost Bowie, George Michael and Leonard Cohen. This show is poignant, super nostalgic and also a lot of fun!”
